Oosterhoff and JS Spoelstra, as a burial fund, with the name Algemeene Friesche Begrafenisfonds 'Memento Mori' after the merger of AGO and Ennia, in Friesland, Holland, as a result of the need of the inhabitants of that country to save money to ensure a decent funeral service, since those made through the state or charity were for people of limited means, and paying for a private funeral was expensive, plus the life profile was shorter than now.

Currently its business model is based on the development of customer financial solutions, physical distribution of its products through intermediaries, life, accident and health insurance, property and casualty, long-term savings, retirement plans, mutual funds, digital banking services, residential mortgages, asset management, retail and institutional investments, among others.
