Shell Plc, formerly known as The Royal Dutch Shell Group, is a company dedicated to the transformation and commercialization of hydrocarbons, dedicated to the oil and natural gas sector, as well as refining activities.

It was created in 1907 when the Shell Transport and Trading Company Ltd merged with the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company, with the purpose of competing with Standard Oil, soon began its activities of exploration of deposits in the state of Zulia in Venezuela and in 1914 culminated its first commercial well in that country, the Zumaque I.
