Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography, or ASML Holding, is a company dedicated to creating equipment and machinery used in the production of integrated circuits.

It was founded in 1984 in the Netherlands, through a partnership between Philips and ASMI, those who open the company with the purpose of developing lithography processes for semiconductors, its growth occurred rapidly, launching in 1986 the PAS 2500, expanding its activities to the United States and Asia in 1988, where they get a tough market so they decide to go public in 1995 obtaining capital to boost its growth and expand its offices.

Incorporate new technology in 2000 and introduce the TWINSCAN system which due to its working mode maximizes accuracy and productivity, buying in that year the Silicon Valley Group, and in 2007 the optimization solutions provider BRION, sending its first prototype of extreme ultraviolet lithography to an Asian customer, also in 2013 they acquire Cymer, in 2016 Hermes Microvision and in 2020 Berliner Glas Group, accelerating the development of its platform in 2023.

Currently its products are focused on offering its customers the hardware, software and services needed to create patterns in silicon and microchip production, using technologies such as lithography, with its headquarters in Brainport Eidhoven have operations in Europe, Asia and the United States, with more than 39 thousand employees.
