RELX plc, is a multinational that operates in the information industry and scientific, medical and technical analysis, in addition to providing legal advice, tools for decision making, among other activities.

In 1895 Albert E. Reed opens a special paper mill for newspapers in Kent, becoming a conglomerate in 1965, diversifying into the creation of decorative items, in 1970 they merge with Publishing Corporation, so they change the name to Reed International Limited, then joining other publishers as Cahners Publications, which made them grow and expand their market.

In turn 1880 is founded the Elsevier Publishing Company NV, in the Netherlands, which was responsible for publishing literary classics, which remained a family business until it merged with Reed International Limited in 1993, thereby forming Reed Elsevier the current RELX.
