Information about Vinci
Vinci S.A., is a group dedicated to the civil construction industry, specializing in major works with public use, designing, financing and manufacturing projects such as roads, highways, railroads, parking lots, among others, is considered one of the groups with the largest permits in the world, being present in more than 120 countries, registering more than 48 billion euros in revenues in 2019.
Its beginnings date back to 1899 when Louis Loucheur and Alexandre Giros created the Société générale d'entreprises (SGE), which was managed by the Compagnie générale d'électricité from 1966 to 1984, when it was taken over by Saint-Gobain, and in 2000 by Vivendi, changing its name to VINCI.
Shortly thereafter, the group became independent and began a process of acquisitions, starting with GTM, thus overtaking its competitor Bouygues and, in 2005, becoming a major player in the construction of highways in the south of France.
The group declares its intention to minimize the ecological footprint of its operations by promoting the use of materials and techniques that consume fewer natural resources, optimizing water consumption, systematizing the use of waste, and implementing a series of actions that allow it to generate ecological restoration, and has therefore created the Environmental Award offered as an incentive for its subsidiaries and employees.
