Description of the company

Worldline S.A. is a corporation that offers platforms for receiving payments and transactional operations, leader in the European market, with more than 18 thousand employees, registering in the year 2022 more than 4.3 billion euros in revenues.

It was created in 1973 after the merger between the companies Sliga and Cegos, obtaining Sligos as its first name, followed by a series of subsequent acquisitions and integrations, which allowed it to diversify its activities, setting up electronic payment services with other online services, changing its name to Atos Worldline.

Over time the Atos Worldline group continues to incorporate subsidiaries and partnerships that consolidate it in 2014 as the leading European payment gateway, joining again its activities with Equens the following year, and with others such as Digital River World Payments, First Data Baltics, SIX Payment Services (Europe) SA, making Worldline an independent company in 2019, although Atos continued to be the main shareholder.

Worldline, for its part, initiated a variety of strategic partnerships, opening equensWorldline, also buying Ingenico and GoPay, which allowed it to reach Eastern Europe, establishing in 2022 the Paytech Pioneer program, designed for startups focused on financial technology, even offering mentoring services, in addition to partnering with SignCatch and negotiating with Crédit Agricole.

Its main activities include commercial and financial services and transactional and mobility web platforms, offering fintechs an update box called VABOX, others such as Saferpay, among others.
