Thales S.A., a company focused on the information industry, specifically in the development of systems and services for the defense, security and aerospace markets, operates in more than 50 countries, is headquartered in France and has approximately 68 thousand employees.

Initially known as Thomson-CSF, a state-owned company that was privatized in 1998, which had a long history in the market and had acquired several important brands such as Alcatel and Dassault Électronique, it became known as Thales Group in 2000, after acquiring Racal Electronics, a British company with important influence in defense electronics, thus expanding the corporation's service portfolio and extending its radius of action even further.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States, the corporation made a special approach to its activities and organized its functions into three business areas, defense, aerospace and information technology, soon acquiring several subsidiaries in the air defense industry and withdrawing non-strategic businesses from its operations.

Its activities are specialized in the defense and security market with customers in the armed forces of several countries, as well as in offering digital identity services to companies, governments and global organizations, being also a leader in avionics, developing ATM systems, IFE, aerospace supports and services, has provided innovative systems to be placed in space, as well as other solutions such as the construction of digital railroads, radio frequency equipment, microelectronics, simulation, among others.
