Infrastrutture Wireless Italiane S.p.A., commonly known as Inwit, is a joint-stock company that is dedicated to the infrastructure sector for wireless networks, is the main operator in Italy, offering coverage throughout the country, in addition to providing space for the transmission equipment of some national operators. It was founded in 2015 after the spin-off of "Tower", a subsidiary of Telecom Italia that ended up merging with Vodafone in 2020.
Its main customers are part of Vodafone Group and TIM Group, as well as some important Italian network operators such as Lliad and WindTre, Linkem, Open Fiber and Fastweb that offer services using LTE, GSM and UMTS technologies, and another group of customers are engaged in radio transmission services, Wireless Local Loop, WiMAX, Hyperlan, public entities and Armed Forces, Institutions, broadcasting companies, television, etc.
The company owns more than 23 thousand communication towers located throughout Italy, with an approximate distance of 3 kilometers between each one, covering rural and urban areas, generally connected by fiber optics, which allows it to offer infrastructure for the development of wireless networks associated with cabling, technological plants, sensors, equipment spaces, among others.
