Signify N.V., a multinational organization with Dutch origins, is dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of lights, control systems and luminaires for both private and professional sectors, as a result of the separation of Philips from its Philips Lighting division.

Its beginnings are recorded from the first activities of Philips, in 1891, those who created in the Netherlands, incandescent lamps, but in 2014 announced that they had to split the organization in two to reorganize its activities, leaving one in charge of medical technology and another dedicated to LED lighting, which is realized in 2016 with the formation of Philips Lighting N.V., entering the stock exchange in Amsterdam that same year.

They changed their name to Signify in 2018, although some products continued to be marketed under the Philips brand.
