Corticeira Amorim SGPS, S.A., a sub-holding company that belongs to the Amorim Group, is a major player in the cork world, managing more than 70 related companies, organized in five units, its products are used by the wine industry, construction and aeronautics, being considered as the main producer of natural cork stoppers for wine bottles in the world.

Its origins date back to 1870, when a factory was founded to produce cork stoppers used in wine bottling. Incorporated in 1922, it became the group's first company and today has dozens of wholly-owned subsidiaries that enable it to position its products worldwide, with the largest percentage of its sales distributed in European Union countries, followed by the United States, Portugal, South America, Australia and Africa.
