Pirelli & C. S.p.A., a multinational company specialized in the creation and commercialization of tires, is recognized as the sixth most important company in the automotive industry, sponsoring sporting activities and becoming the exclusive supplier for Formula 1 since 2011.

The company is headquartered in Milan, but has 18 factories in 12 countries, with an installed production capacity of 74 million car tires registered in 2022, with a network of more than 20,000 points of sale in almost 160 countries.

It was founded in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, in Milan, specialized in the manufacture of rubber, cables and tires, starting with the commercialization of bicycle tires and expanding rapidly, becoming in 1997 the first company of its kind to create a bias tire and at the end of World War II the first with textile casing. By the 1990s they were expanding throughout Europe and the world.
