Description of the company

Eni S.p.A., from the name "Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi", is an Italian company with multinational operations in the oil and energy sector, designing, developing and implementing patented technologies to support actions to reduce GHG emissions, with 7 research centers in Italy, collaborating with approximately 70 universities and research centers, with specialists who have received about 100 innovation awards.

It was founded in 1953 from Agip, dedicated to explore oilfields and sell oil and its derivatives, becoming a corporation in 1992, obtaining over time the permits and sufficient experience to operate in various productive sectors such as oil, natural gas, power generation, engineering and construction, petrochemical industry and service stations.

However, since 2000, they have been extensively involved in activities related to energy transition, collaborating with various institutions and partners, signing agreements and developing advanced technology for obtaining energy from renewable sources and converting biological feedstocks into biofuels.

It is structured in three business divisions: E&P or exploration and production, in which activities related to hydrocarbons are carried out; G&P or Gas and Power, which focuses on obtaining and commercializing electric energy and natural gas; and R&M Refining and Marketing, in which oil derivatives are refined and sold.
