Amplifon S.p.A. is an Italian group dedicated to the marketing of hearing aids, headquartered in Milan, specialized in improving people's quality of life through customized products and services supported by advanced technologies.
It was founded in 1950 by Algernon Charles Holland, who had the purpose of supporting those suffering from hearing loss due to the conflicts caused during the Second World War, opening stores in all regions of Italy from 1960 onwards, achieving a leading position in the market, marketing and fitting hearing aids.
In 1971 they created the "Centro Amplifon de Investigaciones y Estudios" and during the 90s they launched their first digital devices, increasing their market share by entering Spain, Portugal, Austria, France, Switzerland, Egypt, Hungary, the Netherlands and the United States through several acquisitions and later in Germany and Canada.
Its businesses have a 12% share of the global market, with a network of 9,300 points of sale, more than 19 thousand employees, and revenues in excess of 2.12 billion euros in 2022. It is located in 25 countries, 66% of its profits from EMEA, 18% from the Americas and the rest from Asia Pacific, and it also has Franchises and the Managed Care service in the United States.
