Mercedes Benz Group AG is a company dedicated to the automotive industry, specializing in the manufacture and marketing of high-end vehicles, with several brands with which it offers a variety of products and services ranging from financing, fleet management, leasing, insurance brokerage, underwriting and car rental, as well as the development of innovative mobility systems.

It was founded in 1885 when Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach developed and patented a four-stroke engine, manufacturing its first vehicle the following year, although the Mercedes brand was officially registered in 1902, inaugurating its first commercial office in 1906 and adopting the logo with the three stars in 1909, joining the Karl Benz factory in 1924 and renaming the company to Mercedes-Benz.

Since 1981, important acquisitions have been made, such as Freightliner Trucks, and alliances such as the one announced in 2014 with Renault-Nissan in Mexico.

Today the company continues to invest in increasingly efficient propulsion systems, seeking to develop electric vehicles in the near future, striving for intelligent vehicle connectivity and autonomous driving.

Its products are marketed worldwide, in almost all countries, with factories in America, Europe, Asia and Africa, with 170,000 employees, recorded in 2022 the sale of approximately 2.5 million vehicles, through its main brands Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes me, Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-Benz Bank, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and Athlon.
