The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, is an investment banking services holding company.

It was founded in the United States, in 2006, through the merger between the Mellon Financial Corporation and the Bank of New York, which approved mutual agreements based on the shares of each organization, becoming effective in July 2007, thereby creating one of the largest securities firms worldwide.

In 2008 it was appointed as custodian of TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program bailout fund), being hit by the financial crisis of that year, but recovering consistently, so in 2013 they created a marketing campaign to increase its popularity, in turn changing its corporate image and including a new information technology system called NEXEN.

Its headquarters are located in New York, but it has operations in 35 countries between America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa, having approximately 51 thousand employees.

Their main functions basically are to manage the investments of their clients, both personal and organizational, offering the investment service and the management of the same, which represents just over 70% of its income, also serves endowments, pension funds, life insurance companies and universities.
