Information about Unilever PLC
Unilever is a multinational company of British origin, which was formed due to the merger of two large companies "Margarine Unie" and "Lever Brothers" deriving its name from the mixture of both.
Margarine Unie was dedicated to the manufacture of margarine and Lever Brothers manufactured and marketed soaps, both required the use of palm oil from Africa, but the importation was more feasible if done in large quantities, so they decided to join forces for commercial purposes, making the merger in 1929.
By 1930 they expanded into Africa and America, but because of World War II they had to move their primary operations to the United Kingdom and the United States, leaving their headquarters in London.
Over time, they have made several partnerships and acquired more than 400 brands, however, they had to minimize margarine production due to low sales, diversifying into soaps, makeup, beauty products, perfumery, food, among others.
Among its operational strategies, it is worth highlighting the dedication to the brands that generate the most revenue, such as: Mimosín, Skip, Fab, Lavomatic, Coco Varela, Vel Rosa, Puro, Detergente 3D, Cif, Soft, Domésticos, TRESemmé, Timotei, Axe/Lynx, Rexona, Savital, Dove, Pond's, Sedal, Signal, St. Ives, Williams, Vasenol, Maizena, Lipton, Knorr, Ligeresa, Hellmann's, among others.
