CTT Correios de Portugal, S.A., known by the brand name CTT, is the company that manages the postal service in Portugal, offering a wide range of services through its subsidiaries, whose name is derived from "Correos, Telégrafos e Teléfonos" (Post, Telegraphs and Telephones). Its beginnings are related to the approval of the first postal service in Portugal in 1520, which after three centuries, in 1799 became controlled by the public administration and in 1880 the "Department of Posts, Telegraphs and Lighthouses" was formed, obtaining financial autonomy and including the telephone service, as well as radio test broadcasts for a short period of time.
