Description of the company

Grupo Miquel y Costas is a Spanish company dedicated to the manufacture of specialty papers derived from cellulose, mainly for large customers such as tobacco companies and the printing industry.

Its beginnings date back to 1752 in Barcelona, when the Miguel family created the paper manually in a home mill, however, despite the obstacles regarding the lack of machinery, it managed to expand into Latin America, starting with Cuba, where in 1914 it created its tuxedo paper, obtaining total success.

In 1951, it managed to expand its chain of factories and continues to create partnerships that today position it as a leading company, with headquarters in Spain and offices in Germany, the Philippines, Argentina and Chile, exporting its products to 130 countries.

It has a Corporate Social Responsibility policy in which they affirm their compliance with the laws and their unity with the 2030 Agenda proposed by the United Nations regarding environmental care and sustainable development, applying actions focused on the integrity and transparency of their operations, as well as the creation of the Miguel y Costas Foundation in which they work on environmental issues and social needs.
