Description of the company

Royal BAM Group N.V., is a Dutch organization dedicated to providing construction services.

It was founded in 1869 when Adam Van Der Wal opened a carpentry workshop, specializing in the restoration of windmills and the manufacture of coffins, a business that continued through the family generations, changing it to a joint-stock company in 1927 and calling it 'NV Bataafsche Aanneming Maatschappij van Bouw, abbreviated as BAM.

Its main works include the Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij office building, the Diaconessenziekenhuis Bronovo in The Hague, the AVRO building on Keizersgracht and the City Theater in Amsterdam, a laboratory for KEMA in Arnhem, among others, Although the post-war period seriously affected its work, the company managed to overcome this period and went public in 1959, changing its name again to BAM Holding NV in 1973, receiving thanks to Her Majesty The Queen in 1994 the right to use the title "Royal".

It is structured in two organizational units, one focused on activities in the Netherlands and the other established in the United Kingdom and Ireland, although it also has affiliated construction and real estate companies in Belgium, creating projects for the public and private sectors.

In both operating centers, the company divides its activities into four segments depending on the sector for which they work, creating non-residential buildings, residential, real estate, roadways, and installations for trucks, ships and buses.
