Description of the company

Atresmedia (A3M), is a Spanish corporation that owns media activities, operating in private television, radio and cinema.

Initially it was known as Antena 3 being founded in 1979, starting as a radio channel and entering the private television sector in 1989, in 1996 they create Cable Antena, a subsidiary that was dedicated to cable television, in 1997 it is sold to Telefónica and in 2003 it becomes part of Grupo Planeta, being called Grupo Antena 3, after a variety of negotiations, in 2012 they merge with Gia la Sexta, changing its name again to Atresmedia Corporación.

After this new organization, the company obtains its own identity and designates several business units such as television, both in Spain and internationally, multimedia, radio, cinema, series and advertising.

Among the group's subsidiaries stand out: Atresmedia Televisión, formerly known as Antena 3 TV, includes the signals La Sexta, Mega, Neox, Nova and Antena 3; Atresmedia Radio, operates radio channels such as EuropaFM, Onda Cero and Melodía FM; Atresmedia Publicidad, creates varied campaigns and manages advertising spaces; Atresmedia Eventos, manages cultural and sporting events; Atresmedia Digital, is the subsidiary that manages web content; as well as other activities through Fundación Atresmedia, Atresmedia Studios, Buendía Estudios, 6 y Medio, Vancuver Media, Atresmúsica and Atresplayer.
